Aubrey comes from an extensive background in policy advocacy, most recently with Center for Health Progress. She has over a decade’s tenure in managing and overseeing the policy strategies for the organization, as well as contributing to the senior leadership of the organization as it transitioned to be more health equity-focused. In her day-to-day work, she is managing employees and contractors as well as the overall strategic work of the organization and the policy advocacy work. Aubrey earned her master’s in public policy from the University of Denver and her undergraduate degree in sociology from Spring Hill College. Aubrey directly supervises all the Youth Healthcare Alliance staff and contract accountant.

Mariana has extensive experience in community engagement and partnership development. Her love for service to others inspires her and motivates her to do her work. Before joining Youth Healthcare Alliance, Mariana worked at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus as their Community-Campus Partnership Associate Director. She has had the privilege to work with underrepresented communities for the past 20 years and has experience working with people from all backgrounds and stakeholders at every level. She has worked successfully with community residents, government organizations, and nonprofits. Mariana has a bachelor's degree in International Business from la Universidad Autonoma de Baja California in Mexico and she’s fully bilingual and bicultural.

Rebecca is responsible for driving Youth Healthcare Alliance's clinical initiatives related to school-based clinics, which include primary care, behavioral health, reproductive health, and oral health. She develops Youth Healthcare Alliance's vision of school-based healthcare clinical excellence and strategies to carry out this work through projects that support and enhance integrated health competencies in school-based clinics. Rebecca is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a master’s in counseling psychology from the University of Utah. She formerly served as a behavioral health provider and as an administrator at a school-based clinic and has extensive experience working in integrated healthcare settings. She is our remote employee representing the western slope region and provides perspective on unique considerations for supporting rural school-based clinics
Michaela Cardinal

Michaela Cardinal provides research, technical assistance, analysis, and community outreach for critical grant programs. She is currently responsible for supporting explorations of school-based clinics and hub-and-spoke models of telehealth in new communities, as well as providing support for existing school-based clinics. Michaela is also driving the launch of our new youth initiatives. Prior to her role at Youth Healthcare Alliance, Michaela has worked as a policy advocate for Young Invincibles, an intern in the Governor’s Office of Saving People Money on Health Care, and directly with patient populations at Carin’ Clinic, a pediatric nonprofit. Michaela is passionate about health equity and working to foster connected and resilient communities. She is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado Denver with a BA in Political Science and Public Policy.
Jennifer Friar
Contract Senior Accountant

Jennifer is a contract senior accountant who manages bookkeeping and office management for Youth Healthcare Alliance. This role applies skills and knowledge in multiple functional areas including administration, finance, risk management, and human resources. Specifically, Jennifer maintains general ledger accounts in QuickBooks, reconciles bank statements, completes monthly and year-end closings, and prepares monthly financial statements and other reports to summarize current and projected financial positions. She makes recommendations to the executive director so that the organization remains in compliance with external auditor expectations, federal and state laws and regulations, and funder requirements.
